Email sent to SDC Chief Executive David Hagg and Planning Committee Acting Monitoring (Legal) Officer - 7 Aug 2006

Dear Mr. Hagg,

I have attached a copy of my response to your rejection of my complaints about SDC's handling of the application for development of a new farm complex at Tyley Bottom. As you will see I am intending to refer this issue to the Ombudsman but want to be sure that I have exhausted all other approaches before I do so.

I understand that the remaining reserved matters are included in the schedule for tomorrow's (8th August) meeting of the Development Control Committee.

I ask you to re-consider postponing consideration of that item pending:

a) full investigation of my complaints in the light of my response,

and/or

b) investigation of a complaint, made by another party, regarding the appropriateness of the Chairman and another Member of that committee to take part in the voting because of their perceived declared prejudice in favour of farmers when the decision was made on the outline application. I understand that this complaint has the support of other Committee Members who have neither been advised of the complaint by SDC nor invited to comment.

Yours sincerely

M G Challis
