BENCHES & TABLES

The wooden benches and tables at Molly’s Bar are to be sold at the end of the Festival. All of the profits will be donated to one or more of the charitable organisations working in Somalia and Kenya. The only costs that will be deducted are the costs of fuel, delivery and materials – about £70 in total for the 9 sets - no labour costs.

The tables and bench tops were cut from leylandii trees which had been earmarked for logging as firewood. The tops have been coated with a vegetable oil to bring out the grain, minimise staining and repel water. As they dry out the tops will continue to develop new features as they twist and small cracks may appear. Although Leylandii is reasonably resistant to rotting it will need further treatment if left out through the winter.
